QUINTA DA ATELA: A FARM FROM THE TIME OF THE KINGS

Quinta da Atela featured in Paixão pelo Vinho magazine

Located on the south bank of the Tagus, in the municipality of Alpiarça, Quinta da Atela covers 600 hectares. Initially created under the name of Quinta da Goucha e Atela in 1346 and owned by the Counts of Ourém, this property came to belong to the son-in-law of D. Nuno Álvares Pereira, Count of Arraiolos and Barcelos. After this period of ownership, the property passed to a Dominican order in the Convent of Graça, which included some of the most illustrious figures in Portuguese history.

In 2017 it was acquired by its current owners, D. Anabela Tereso and her husband Mr. Fernando Vicente, administrators of VALGRUPO. It currently has a completely renovated identity, with the entire palace having been restored and its entire range of wines having been reformulated.

Motivated by the appreciation and beauty of the wines, the Quinta offers different wine tourism activities so that visitors can enhance their wine experience. We have spaces for social and leisure events, presentations of products and services, business meetings, conferences, gatherings of friends and family, as well as study or tourist visits.

With you in mind, we also have four activities that allow you to get to know our farm: a walk around our property, a bike ride, a tractor ride, and a buggy ride for the more extreme. Within these programs you can also be dazzled by our magnificent landscapes, visit historical sites protected by the EU, and get to know some of the exotic animals that live in these habitats.
